Chatfield College Welcomes David Hesson as Site Director and Associate Dean

David Hesson has joined Chatfield College as the Site Director and Associate Dean of the St. Martin campus, located in Brown County. In this position, David will supervise and manage all aspects of campus operation, including academic and student life activities.

“We are pleased to have David join us in this vital role,” said Peter Hanson, PhD, Chief Academic Officer and Dean.  “He brings much energy, insight, and experience to this position and has already made a positive impression on the students.  I am certain he will continue to focus on supporting student success.”
David brings to Chatfield years of experience in education, having served as Coordinator of Faculty Development, Director of Education, and Director of Student Services at Miami-Jacobs Career College.  Those have worked directly with him attest enthusiastically to David’s strong ability to help students address hurdles that might impede their education.  Prior to his time in higher education, David taught in Monroe Local Schools, connecting students with both drama and literature.  He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Comprehensive Communications from Mt. Vernon Nazarene College, and a Master of Arts in School Counseling from University of Dayton.

“This position certainly feels almost like coming home for me, because education has been the lifeblood for most of my career. There is no greater joy than continued work with those who are seeking to better themselves through education. I am excited to continue my journey in education working with Chatfield students and contributing to the dynamic experience that this college provides to its student body,” said David.

David is from Fairfield, Ohio but hopes to relocate soon to the local area. He is a self-professed book nerd who loves reading, old movies and travel.
