Why Students Choose Chatfield

As a private, non-profit college, we are driven by our mission. Through our student-obsessed culture, our goal is to meet students where they are and empower them to better themselves, their employability, and their futures. You will leave Chatfield a different person–one with confidence, new-found abilities, and on track to achieve your dreams.

Elevate your skills, improve your future

Education has the power to transform your life, family, and community for good. At Chatfield, you’ll learn in-demand skills to help you stand out from the crowd and achieve your goals: a new job, a promotion, or acceptance to a four-year college or university.

Experience support, convenience, and compassion

Chatfield is nothing without our students, who come from all walks of life to benefit from our Ursuline heritage and values. Whether you learn in beautiful St. Martin, bustling Over-the-Rhine, or online, you can expect one-on-one advising, 24/7 tutoring, and emotional support from tech-savvy faculty and staff.

Ensure great value for your money

As the Cincinnati region’s most affordable nonprofit Catholic college, we’re eager to help you graduate with little or no debt. Every Chatfield student gets personal financial counseling before starting classes, and almost every Chatfield student gets financial aid in scholarships, grants, or loans.

Expect exceptional academic quality

For 50 years, people throughout southwestern Ohio have changed their lives with a Chatfield education. We’re regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). That means our student-centered programs and expert faculty meet high-quality standards.

What are Ursuline values?

Chatfield College was founded by the Brown County Ursulines, an order of nuns who traveled from France to Brown County, OH in 1845 to create an academically excellent boarding school for girls. In 1951, our college was founded and named in honor of Brown County Ursulines’ foundress, Julia Chatfield. In keeping with our Ursuline heritage, we promote these core values:

  • Academic excellence
  • Service
  • Spirituality
  • Community
  • Social justice
  • Openness to change
  • Leadership

We’re proud of our Catholic heritage and we’re open and welcoming to students from all walks of life, regardless of their faith.
