George TenEyck has joined Chatfield College as the Coordinator of Volunteers. In this role, George will supervise, manage, and assess all aspects of activities for tutoring and mentoring programs at both campuses, as well as serve as a student advisor.
George said, “I’m thrilled to join the Chatfield community and continue working with students, volunteers, and staff to create an equitable educational experience. I am glad to be working with such great people in all aspects of this community!”
He earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Kenyon College and Master of Arts in Teaching from Lewis and Clark College. George immediately set to teaching within the social justice-oriented History and Ethnic studies curriculum of the Portland (OR) Public Schools. There, he also served on the CARE professional Committee, a group that led professional development aimed at decreasing community educational achievement gaps.
