Chatfield Announces Articulation Agreement with Health Care Access Now
Chatfield College has recently entered into an articulation agreement with Health Care Access Now (HCAN). The agreement will allow those who have completed the HCAN Community Health Worker Training Program to receive credits towards their degree at Chatfield.
Chatfield will award credits towards an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts through HCAN’s training program. Those individuals who have successfully completed the 230-hour HCAN Community Health Worker Training Program can receive up to nine college credit hours towards their degree at Chatfield once they have received a certificate of completion from the program.
“This is a great opportunity for the community,” stated Ella Thomas, an HCAN employee. Community health workers work closely with individuals in certain communities to improve health and well-being. They are licensed by the State of Ohio and are qualified to perform basic health services such as monitoring blood pressure, performing health-care screenings, and are often links between available public health services. Community health workers often help individuals better understand their healthcare needs and maintain communications between the individuals and their local healthcare provider.
This agreement allows prospective students to easily transition into the college setting after completing the HCAN program. This is a great opportunity to further their education with Chatfield and obtain even more knowledge about the health care field.
Chatfield College is a private, faith-based, liberal arts college offering the Associate of Arts degree in Brown County and Cincinnati, and is an open enrollment college. The Brown County campus is located at 20918 State Route 251; St. Martin, OH 45118; the Cincinnati campus is located in historic Over-the- Rhine at 1544 Central Parkway; Cincinnati, OH 45202.
